Hey There, I'm eryn
My name is Eryn With a Y and I love the unique spelling of my name, although it’s not always spelled correctly by others. Usually by those replying to emails that I’ve already sent them with my name clearly spelled in the signature. What is with that?
As a result, you can guarantee I’ll get your name right. If I don’t, I’ll give you 20 bucks.

Story Behind the Girl
I’ve always had a little something on the side. Creatively speaking. I was an avid craft blogger for years before I had my first child. I’ve got numerous half-finished novels on my hard drive. I’ve almost cut off two of my fingers while wood working one New Year’s Eve that ended in a trip to the emergency department and 17 stitches.
There’s always been this drive to create inside me, I’ve just never found a place that was comfortable long term. Crafting, writing, blogging, it was all fun, but it didn’t fulfil me long term.
Like a lot of people, I made a ‘sensible’ choice and pursued a marketing degree then got a job that made me money. I enjoyed almost every minute of it. My job is interesting, the people are great, and there’s room to be creative, but there was still a need in me to create.
Then I picked up an iPad and downloaded Procreate and the rest is history. I never thought I was any good but being able to tap two fingers and completely erase a line- for some reason gave me the confidence I needed to draw and begin to improve.
Once I started I couldn’t stop. Drawing for me is so effortless and enjoyable. I used to have to drag myself to the computer to write, telling myself I was pursuing my dream. It was hard work. But drawing? I can do it all day. I look forward to the weekends so I can pull out all my paints and try something new.
I still can’t get away from my writing roots though, so I’m blogging both as a diary and to share my journey with anyone else who is starting out. I’m not sure where I want to go with it all, I’m having fun, learning new techniques and refining my style.
